What we collect, and why

1. Server logs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest)

When you visit traderjury.com, our hosting provider records standard web-server data: IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URL, and timestamp. We use these logs to operate, secure, and improve the site. Logs are retained for up to 30 days, then deleted or anonymised.

2. Comments and trader reports (Art. 6(1)(a) consent / Art. 6(1)(b) contract)

If you submit a comment, rating, or trader report, we store: your display name, email address, comment content, IP address (for spam protection), and submission timestamp. Comments are public; emails are not. Comments stay published indefinitely unless you ask us to remove them. Read our comment policy for moderation rules.

3. Newsletter (Art. 6(1)(a) — consent)

If you opt into our newsletter, we collect your email address and subscription timestamp. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. We do not share your email with third parties for marketing.

4. Affiliate-link tracking (Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest)

Outbound links to brokers and prop firms may include affiliate tracking parameters. The destination site sees the click and may set its own cookies. We don't pass your personal data — just the click event so the partner network can attribute the referral.

Cookies

TraderJury sets a minimal set of cookies: a session cookie for logged-in admins (functional, no consent needed) and an optional analytics cookie if you accept it on first visit. We do not use third-party tracking pixels or advertising cookies.

Processors we use

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, CDN, DDoS protection. EU/US Data Privacy Framework certified.
  • Render Services Inc. — alternative hosting for non-Cloudflare deployments. EU SCCs in place.
  • Email provider (Resend or ConvertKit) — newsletter delivery. Configured at launch.
  • Google Search Console — aggregated, anonymised search analytics. No personal data shared.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data when there's no legal basis to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, for processing based on consent.
  • Complain — to the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA) or your local DPA.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@brokercheck.co.

Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Server logs: 30 days. Comments: until deletion request or account closure. Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. Tax-relevant records (e.g., affiliate-revenue accounting): up to 10 years per German commercial law (HGB).

International transfers

Some of our processors are based outside the EU/EEA (e.g., Cloudflare US, Render US). Transfers are covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, whichever applies.

Updates to this policy
